The 150th anniversary, whether for the watch industry or for a brand, is a period of time that cannot be ignored. In 2018, IWC has just ushered in a special day like the 150th anniversary of the brand. At this year’s Geneva Haute Horlogerie Show, IWC also introduced new watches that are worthy of attention, such as the ‘tribute to Pallweber’ special edition watches. The Watch House also takes stock of the Geneva Haute Horlogerie 2018 New IWC watches worthy of attention.
First, there are three limited edition IWC watches “Pallweber” special edition watches in the brand’s 150th anniversary special edition series, with hour-jumping figures. This is the first time IWC has put the hours and minutes on a wristwatch. As early as 1884, such designs have appeared. Pallweber pocket watches display hours and minutes in large numbers on a rotating display. However, such an innovative time display was too avant-garde at the time: this watch sold well for a while, but in the following years it was out of sight. As we celebrate the brand’s anniversary, we pay tribute to the pioneering spirit of Schaffhausen watchmakers with the special edition of IWC “Pallweber” 150th anniversary (model: 5050). The platinum model is limited to 25 pieces, the red gold version is limited to 250 pieces, and the steel version is limited to 500 pieces.
At the same time, as a unique highlight of the anniversary, IWC also launched a ‘tribute to Po Weber’ pocket watch, limited edition of 50 pieces, which is the first digital display of the IWC IWC watch after its production ceased in 1890. Hour and minute pocket watches are also the first new pocket watches of this Swiss luxury watchmaker in the 21st century. A pocket watch with a very retro feel is very special to many people.
The Portofino collection has always been one of the most loved watches in the IWC watch collection. The Portofino hand-wound moon phase watch is crafted from red gold and steel with a white or blue lacquered dial. The red gold model is the only gold case with a blue dial in the Anniversary Special Edition series. The hands and moon phases show the moon and stars are also gilded to complement the dial. The stainless steel case-shaped moon and stars are made of rhodium-plated material. IWC IWC-manufactured 59800 movement is based on the 59000 movement series, which adds a moon phase profit and loss display, and every 122 years will only produce an error of one day from the moon’s operating cycle. And one of the Portofino series watches with a white dial automatic winding movement, the watch home also took the actual shooting.
IWC launched three limited-edition pilot watches in the brand’s 150th anniversary special edition series. Among them, there is a very special Dafei, which brings the annual calendar into the design of the watch, and it is also the first in the ‘Dafei’ series with a large calendar display window.

The case and mobile lugs are set with 206 flawless diamonds totaling 2.26 carats.
The Pilot’s Chronograph ‘150 Years’ Special Edition (Model: IW377725) was inspired by the popular pilot’s chronograph watch and received a new interpretation in the Anniversary Special Edition series, limited to 1,000 pieces. The self-produced movement is also one of its highlights and places to celebrate.
