Chopard’s Chopard Launches The Golden Monkey New Year’s Limited Watch

This year, Chopard launched the new L.U.C XP limited-edition watch with the theme of the Chinese zodiac. China will enter the year of the golden monkey on February 8, 2016. Chopard will launch a dill watch with the theme of golden monkey picking peaches. The dial is hand-made in limited edition by Japanese lacquer masters, and the golden monkey picks peaches, implying the new year’s wisdom and good luck.

The rich meaning of the Seiko dial
For more than a thousand years, the Chinese zodiac monkey has always held a positive symbolic meaning. Those born in the Year of the Monkey are intelligent, curious and curious. They are knowledgeable, creative and innovative. The monkey, the five elements are territories, and the wise and wise. Monkeys are persistent, yet charming. They love to express themselves and are self-confident. Golden monkey picking peach is the theme of traditional Chinese New Year pictures, and ‘eight’ peaches symbolize harvest and good luck. In fact, peach means health, and the number eight means luck.

Under the careful interpretation of Chopard Chopard, a golden monkey perched on a fruit-bearing branch, picking peaches, and the setting sun glowed a golden sky. The golden valley in the background presents a warm scene, its hue perfectly matches the soft rose gold case.

The L.U.C XP Golden Monkey Peach and Dill Painted Watch comes with a black alligator leather strap and a special case carefully decorated with the Dill Painted Craftsmanship. The outside of the watch box is black, and the inside is painted with gold. Its octagonal design has a pleasant meaning in Eastern culture.
Extraordinary technique
Raw lacquer raw material is extracted from resin of lacquer tree. The resin of the lacquer tree must be carefully collected, aged and processed before it can be made into lacquer. It needs to be painted layer by layer, and each layer is extremely thin. The master of lacquer painting uses lacquer painting technology to outline the pattern highlighted by gold powder on the lacquer surface, which requires extremely strict and meticulous techniques. However, Fang Jing, a veteran master with many years of experience, is dedicated to perfecting the craftsmanship throughout his life, and strives for perfection in every action.

Like previous years’ L.U.C XP dip-watches, Chopard worked with the Japanese royal lacquer maker Yamada Heiando to create this precious dial. The Japanese master of the Maki field, known as the ‘National Treasure of the World’ in Japan, designed the dial, and supervised the drawing of the dial by Master Koizumi, who was specially invited by Chopard Chopard.

Excellent machinery
The vast and profound Far East craftsmanship is fused with the noble Swiss fine watchmaking symbolized by Chopard Haute Horlogerie. This extraordinary dial features an L.U.C XP case. Its slim shape and delicate bezel elegantly highlight the magnificent works of Japanese maki artists. The watch is equipped with the ultra-thin L.U.C 96.17-L movement, which is only 3.30 mm thick.

This finely crafted self-winding movement is extremely thin and features micro-rotor technology. The micro-rotor is made of 22K gold and is cleverly placed in the movement to achieve a balance between thin thickness and practical functions. The movement is equipped with Twin® dual barrel technology, which has an unprecedented power reserve of 65 hours and is retouched to the highest aesthetic and technical standards.

Athens Watch Iconic Image Of The New Generation Of Sailing: The Big Fire Enamel ‘nautical Observatory Calendar’

The outstanding international reputation of Athens Watch is inseparable from its outstanding achievements in the development of nautical astronomical clocks. As a well-known Swiss watchmaker, since 171, Athens Watch has won more than 4,300 championships and 18 world-class international gold medals. Athenian watches were used in the 19th and early 20th century for precision marine astronomical clocks in naval fleets in more than 50 countries around the world.
Today, navigators no longer use these precision navigation instruments while crossing the ocean, but ship bell collectors and mechanical enthusiasts especially value their superb mechanical construction principles. Today, the Athenian watch pays tribute to the glorious history of the past, inspired by the historic nautical astronomical clock, and presents a new generation of nautical iconic image: the ‘calendar of the nautical astronomical observatory’ with big fire enamel.
Today, Athens Watch has been committed to the pursuit of excellence, streamlined watch parts, and promoted an innovative culture of innovative technology. In 2016, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Marine collection, the Athenian watch combined a marine chronograph with an annual calendar for the first time.
Traditional almanacs require up to thirty components and have a one-year mechanical program. However, the watchmakers in Athens successfully developed a system consisting of only seven components, which is easy to operate and only needs to be adjusted once a year in February. The Nautical Observatory Almanac shows the true technology in a pure way, a microcosm of innovative technology. This is exactly the challenge of personalizing the ‘simple is beauty’ philosophy advocated by Ludwig Oechslin, a talented watchmaker. The UN-113 movement was designed and developed by the Athens Watch Factory, including a silicon hairspring. Another simple operation of the almanac is to adjust the date forward or backward.
Today in 2017, the flaming enamel dial ‘Navigation Observatory Almanac’ has been certified by the COSC Swiss Official Observatory. This precision timepiece combines an annual calendar, a 60-hour power reserve, a self-designed and developed movement, and an eye-catching blue large fire enamel dial.
Enamel dials refined by enamel specialists from Donzé Cadrans, a member of the Athenian watch group, add highlights to the timeless and elegant Marine collection. Delicate enamel ripples, extending from the center of the dial to the power reserve display at 12 o’clock and the annual calendar and date display at 6 o’clock. The watch has the classic features of the Marine series, including the distinctive hour and minute hands, Roman numerals, a coin-shaped bezel, a screw-in crown that guarantees 100 meters of water resistance, and a diameter of 43 when read Stainless steel case.
The Nautical Observatory’s Almanac is the embodiment of the extraordinary history of the Athenian watch, equipped with the latest technology in precision mechanical timepieces, a tribute to the power and purity of the ocean.
